Self Contained breathing apparatus is also known as compressed air breathing apparatus or SCBA or BA. This tool is usually used by rescue workers such as the fire team when extinguishing the blaze, or other rescue teams. The main function of BA is to help with breathing, especially when in a dangerous situation or event. This tool is made for use on land and also under water which is commonly called Self Contained Underwater breathing apparatus or SCUBA.
The Three Main Components of the Breathing Apparatus
This breathing apparatus mask is self-contained or self-contained because the breathing system circuit is not dependent on the supply of air from a long hose with a pressurized air tube. The air from a BA mask is usually not pure oxygen, but filtered and compressed air. The inhaler is fire resistant and helps provide proper air for the user to breathe. BA usually has three main components, including the following.
High pressure air tank or tube, volume varies. Typical cylinder capacities range: 9L, 8L, 6L, 5L, 4L, 3L, or 2L. This air tank is usually made of aluminum, steel and fiber composite.

Reducer Valve which functions to reduce the pressure of the air tube from high pressure to low pressure. The pressure on the air tube varies including 300 Bar, 200 Bar, 150 Bar so the low pressure is 8 Bar
LDV (Lung Demand Valve) which functions to regulate consumption from the tube to the full face mask.
Full Face Mask which functions to cover the face to avoid air contaminated with toxins or even oxygen levels that are less than the minimum limit.
Pressure Gauge which functions to determine the pressure of the air tube.
Warning Whistle, which functions as a signaling whistle to warn of the air pressure in the breathing apparatus tube, is staying low, and the user must leave a dangerous condition or place to a safer place.
BA Mask Category
This BA mask allows the user to breathe clean air from the air tank, even if the user is in the middle of a thick smoke or in the water. This breathing apparatus is also equipped with a lock at the waist and a shoulder hanger so it looks like a backpack. Each BA with a standard has been verified to be reliable to operate and protect its users in temperatures of -30 째 Celsius to +60 째 Celsius. Based on the breathing circuit system, breathing apparatus masks are divided into two distinct categories.
